Former Residence of Hu Xueyan

The residential building covers a land of 5,818 sq.m.

It was built in 1872 by Hu Xueyan, a comprador capitalist with an official title at the end of the Qing Dynasty.

The masterwork consists of three building complexes, namely the Living Courtyard, the Etiquette Hall and the Magnificent Park.

It is a rarely-found excellent architecture of later Qing Dynasty, and worthy of its name as the first luxury residence of the merchantt prince at the end of the dynasty.
